Steph's Glass is Half Full

Optimistic (and often pessimistic) raves and rants about the many things that can go wrong with an old house, cats who leave me hairballs each day, a job I love but get burned out with and my wonderful husband who I at times, want to hiss at. Also included are my yays and nays about my travels into the world when performing necessary tasks such as grocery shopping, being thrown together with complete strangers, thrown together with strangers and their strangeness.

Two Hours on a Thursday Night

It was painless, kind of. I felt a sense of nostalgia and sorrow as I said goodbye to my 1991 Nissan Pathfinder. That vehicle spent many miles transporting kitties over the years and truth be told, I really liked my Pathfinder. But it was getting old and starting to show the signs of age which would mean massive repair bills in the near future. It was time to retire it.

It took just two hours at the car dealer and I was no longer the owner of my beloved Pathfinder. Goodbye sweet car, thanks for all the trouble free miles you gave me.

I was looking for a 2007 Honda Element, 4WD, automatic, Tango Red Pearl. Found one at the Honda dealer Saturday, but wasn't quite ready to buy yet. Today we were ready. Unfortunately, the Red Element was gone and there were none to be found anywhere in the state. Second choice was blue...again none available. So we asked about used Elements.

Available was a 2005 black and a 2005 Blue. Then the dealer says, "Nope, scratch the black, it's a manual transmission". Manuals are fine in smaller cars, but for an SUV I want an automatic. The Blue looked pretty darn nice and when I drove it, I was amazed at how much I liked it.

So here is my "new" kitty transporter...a 2005 Honda Element EX, automatic transmission, 4WD, 18000 miles...
