Steph's Glass is Half Full

Optimistic (and often pessimistic) raves and rants about the many things that can go wrong with an old house, cats who leave me hairballs each day, a job I love but get burned out with and my wonderful husband who I at times, want to hiss at. Also included are my yays and nays about my travels into the world when performing necessary tasks such as grocery shopping, being thrown together with complete strangers, thrown together with strangers and their strangeness.

A Fulfilling Nap

The photo was the state of my brain power today.

My day began with the alarm trying to wake me at 5AM. I dozed through a couple of snoozes and then had to get up, shower, iron my scrubs and leave for work. Didn't have time for a cup of coffee. It felt very odd going to work while Marty was still asleep.

Walking the dogs at the clinic was kind of miserable in the darkness with the wind blowing, the grass wet with cold dew and a rain that suddenly ceased just as I was bringing the last dog inside. Fortunately most of the dogs were very cooperative, doing their business right away and pulling on their leash to get back inside. There were two dogs who wouldn't do their morning potty right away and spent most of their time outside sniffing around and then sniffing more. They loved the cold wind and rain, I did not. My bones were chilled after walking the dogs and it took until early afternoon before I warmed up.

It was a very slow day at the clinic and I was able to leave at 2:30 instead of working a twelve hour day. When I got home, I immediately changed into my sweatpants and t-shirt and went upstairs for a nap, muttering a sleepy hello to the cats as I trudged past each one. Marty came home around 5:30 and after calling my name numerous times with no answer, came upstairs and woke me from my totally zonked out state. Obviously I was much more tired than I thought.

The nap was good for me although I spent the next hour still groggy and trying to get my brain functioning. Solving a couple of crossword puzzles helped the brain cells wake up, but my body is still very tired.
