Steph's Glass is Half Full

Optimistic (and often pessimistic) raves and rants about the many things that can go wrong with an old house, cats who leave me hairballs each day, a job I love but get burned out with and my wonderful husband who I at times, want to hiss at. Also included are my yays and nays about my travels into the world when performing necessary tasks such as grocery shopping, being thrown together with complete strangers, thrown together with strangers and their strangeness.

It's Not Fixed Yet

The appointment with the orthopedic hand specialist had a good side and a bad side. The bad is that my finger is still broken after seven weeks in a splint. The good is that the splint was removed and left off. The Dr. is not too concerned about the break because the sides of the bone have healed while the center still has a gap; he is more worried about the inability to bend the finger. So, it's physical therapy for me and maybe another splint if the therapist thinks it's necessary.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for no splint. Well, as crossed as possible with an unbending finger.

My niece Amanda had her wedding shower today. Mom and I went to lunch before and I ate soup, spaghetti, a pice of fried chicken and two slices of Texas toast. At the shower the food looked so good that I ate again. Had a croissant chicken salad sandwich, grazed at the veggie tray and had a large piece of cake. That is more than I normally eat for two days and right now I am snacking on beef jerky wishing I had another plate of spaghetti in front of me.

Another work week awaits me. Six days of very long hours. One day off each week really sucks because I have no time to catch up on studying, crafts, just relaxation time. Two days off would be very nice, but ain't happening for some time. Drat.

I am sorry for the suffering, but amused at the thought of physical therapy for a finger...
