Steph's Glass is Half Full

Optimistic (and often pessimistic) raves and rants about the many things that can go wrong with an old house, cats who leave me hairballs each day, a job I love but get burned out with and my wonderful husband who I at times, want to hiss at. Also included are my yays and nays about my travels into the world when performing necessary tasks such as grocery shopping, being thrown together with complete strangers, thrown together with strangers and their strangeness.

Trucks

Marty used to have a nice Toyota 4x4 truck. Unfortunately, 2.5 years ago he was rear-ended on the Narrows Bridge and his truck was totaled. The good thing was it was paid for. The bad thing was the insurance did not come close to reimbursing enough money to replace his much liked Toyota.

We bought the truck pictured below with the insurance money. It is a Chevy S10 and Marty has hated it from Day 1 even though it saved us from having a monthly car payment. It isn't his Toyota, it isn't a Toyota of any type, it is a hated American car that Marty swears has brought him much grief since its day of purchase. He calls it an old man's truck.

After 2.5 years of driving the much hated and cursed vehicle (Marty cursed at that truck daily), he started truck shopping. My requests were an extend cab and an automatic transmission. After several weeks of searching, the gem pictured below was found. It's a 2003 Toyota Tacoma Pre-Runner, 35000 miles, in new condition...a great truck.

We found it at the same Honda dealer where we purchased my Element and we used the same salesman. That speaks volumes of the service we received from tthat dealership the first time since Marty and I both typically dislike car salespeople, but ours was someone we wanted to do business with again.

Marty has a Toyota again and actually smiles when he gets in his "new" truck. There was no sad farewell to the old truck, Marty was happy to be rid of it.
