Steph's Glass is Half Full

Optimistic (and often pessimistic) raves and rants about the many things that can go wrong with an old house, cats who leave me hairballs each day, a job I love but get burned out with and my wonderful husband who I at times, want to hiss at. Also included are my yays and nays about my travels into the world when performing necessary tasks such as grocery shopping, being thrown together with complete strangers, thrown together with strangers and their strangeness.

A Day Off, But Still at the Clinic

Had today off, but was at the clinic cleaning the grooming area. The two groomers are on vacation and the area needed major cleaning. Why did I clean? I start grooming at the end of November and want to work in a clean environment. A quirk I have. Why am I grooming? It's a long story. I'm actually looking forward to being a groomer. Yes, I will still be a Vet. Asst.

Our cat Beamer was at the hospital Monday for a dental cleaning and tooth extractions. He has stomatitis, a chronic condition that results in extreme gingivitis and tooth loss. Cats have 32 teeth. Beamer now has 14. He is doing fine after having 18 teeth extracted. And you thought your dentist visit was bad.

This is Beamer.

This coming Tuesday, Frank Walker is scheduled for a dental and a tooth extraction because he has a toothache. He won't be happy about going to the hospital, but after the deed is done, he will feel much better. Frank was originally a clinic cat, but Talker (the other clinic cat) didn't get along with him. So Frank needed a new home. Marty and I adopted him.
