Steph's Glass is Half Full

Optimistic (and often pessimistic) raves and rants about the many things that can go wrong with an old house, cats who leave me hairballs each day, a job I love but get burned out with and my wonderful husband who I at times, want to hiss at. Also included are my yays and nays about my travels into the world when performing necessary tasks such as grocery shopping, being thrown together with complete strangers, thrown together with strangers and their strangeness.

Saturday's bad and good events

Bad: The basement had water on the floor in several spots from the all night rainfall.
Good: It was minimal, easily pushed into the floor drain. Not like our past years of water all over the entire basement when we had to squeegy the floor every hour.

Bad: Several occasions at the clinic today when Mabeline was a stooge and created dangerous situations to pets, staff and clients.
Good: Nothing bad happened.

Bad: A young seagull in the parking lot next to the clinic was flapping around on the ground with a very obvious broken wing. A huge flock of crows were circling overhead planning their attack on the injured gull. An even larger flock of gulls were diving at the crows to keep them away from the injured youngster.
Good: A co-worker and I captured the gull, brought it to the clinic, saw that the wing, being snapped in half with muscles and ligaments torn apart, could not be repaired. The Vet. humanely euthanized the gull to end its pain.

Bad: Marty and I went to the Ram on the Ruston Way waterfront for dinner. His steak tasted like liver, the batter on my breaded fish and prawns was crispy on the outside but soggy on the inside.
Good: We had a coupon for "buy one entree, get one free". Good thing since my dinner being the cheapest was priced at $14.99. Even with the not so good food, Marty and I enjoyed our date.

Bad: I sometimes hate my job.
Good: I mostly love my job.

Bad: All living things die and humans are a major cause of many deaths.
Good: Humans can help prevent deaths and can rescue many creatures. Hug your pet tonight, give them a special treat. Save the whales, the eagles, the wolves, feed the strays, water your indoor plants, clean your aquarium. Don't be selfish and self-centered on human existence, share this Earth with all the other living creatures.
