Steph's Glass is Half Full

Optimistic (and often pessimistic) raves and rants about the many things that can go wrong with an old house, cats who leave me hairballs each day, a job I love but get burned out with and my wonderful husband who I at times, want to hiss at. Also included are my yays and nays about my travels into the world when performing necessary tasks such as grocery shopping, being thrown together with complete strangers, thrown together with strangers and their strangeness.

Busy Work Day

Today was a very hectic work day. Thank goodness there were only two Drs. instead of the usual three. We were short an Assistant so we did double duty. One Asst. worked 13 hours to cover the clinic needs.

Ima stood around all day with her hands in pockets even while we wrestled dogs. Step in and help? NOT. She was an obstacle we had to push aside or go around.

The Tech. had blood samples to run, x-rays to do, a dog on the surgery table, plus we had nail trims and two blood draws waiting up front. Did Ima volunteer for any of it? No.

Edie and I did the nail trims even though Edie is one handed right now due to an injury and Ima didn't volunteer to help. I tried the first blood draw with Edie holding, but the dog required two holders and Ima stood by being dumb. When she saw that we needed help, she made herself scarce. Maybe because I was doing the blood draw instead of her. Since the dog required three people, we had to wait for the Tech. because Ima ran off.

I did the second blood draw with Edie holding.

Ima is not going to get good scoring on her internship requirements.
