Steph's Glass is Half Full

Optimistic (and often pessimistic) raves and rants about the many things that can go wrong with an old house, cats who leave me hairballs each day, a job I love but get burned out with and my wonderful husband who I at times, want to hiss at. Also included are my yays and nays about my travels into the world when performing necessary tasks such as grocery shopping, being thrown together with complete strangers, thrown together with strangers and their strangeness.

Red Lobster

Today we went to Red Lobster as my pacifier for working two of my off days. I ordered the "Create Your Own Feast", a menu item selecting either two or three of their offerings. I chose the three item with shrimp scampi, grilled shrimp and grilled salmon.

The first bite of salmon in the thin end was very good. The second bite getting more into the meaty portion was "hmm, I think this isn't grilled enough". I cut into the center and it was basically raw.

I sent it back and ate my shrimp while awaiting the return of a new piece of salmon correctly grilled. It never arrived but the waiter did as he presented our check.

As an apology, the waiter gave me a large bowl of ice cream with chocolate and caramel sauce. I'm not a dessert person but I ate the entire thing minus a few bites that Marty took. As I looked at the empty bowl I was so shocked that I actually ate dessert.

My so looking forward to Red Lobster experience was disappointing today.

With what I ingested while at work (a ham sandwich, a KFC drumstick, a large KFC mashed potato and gravy, two candy bars) and then at Red Lobster, I ate more in one day than I usually do the entire weekend. Two candy bars today?! I probably have two candy bars a year.

Geez, no wonder I feel as if my stomach is holding an acre of food.
