Steph's Glass is Half Full

Optimistic (and often pessimistic) raves and rants about the many things that can go wrong with an old house, cats who leave me hairballs each day, a job I love but get burned out with and my wonderful husband who I at times, want to hiss at. Also included are my yays and nays about my travels into the world when performing necessary tasks such as grocery shopping, being thrown together with complete strangers, thrown together with strangers and their strangeness.

Sunday at Work

There was a dog on IV fluids which meant I had to be there for a 10 hour shift to monitor the patient. All was well except the frequent times when Olson tucked his leg underneath him. That caused the fluid machine to beep with the blinking message of "Occlusion". Olson, a medium size pitbull mix, likes to sleep curled up in a ball with his front legs tucked underneath him. That is not a good position for the flow of an IV.

Olson also had several bouts of diarrhea. No problem to clean up since he liked a clean kennel and performed his diarrhea bouts in one corner. I moved him to a clean kennel each time and thanked him for being such a tidy dog.

I was able to spend several hours with my school studies learning more about radiology. There were several things I read in my text that confused me, so I went into the clinic's radiology room and read their charts...ah, now I understand much better.

Sundays at the clinic aren't bad at all. It was actually a very relaxing day compared to the days when the clinic is open.

It was a very hot day here. Since we live in such an old house with questionable electrical wiring, I turn everything off when I am away for a full day; the fans and air conditioning. When I got home after work, the cats were glad to see me, but were not anxious to leave their spots of cool comfort.
