I also took all the radiographs that were needed and it was very easy. The reason it was so easy may be morbid to some people so close your eyes if you don't want to read this. A dog had just been euthanized and the Tech. suggested I use that dog, Teka, as my radiograph animal. (Teka was euthanized by her owners because she was vicious and attacked with no provocation). I was able to do the rads by myself without tying up a Tech. or Asst. to help with restraining and positioning. The practicum requires rads from the skull to the hips and I was able to get all of those today. Thank you Teka.
The below photo is my first successful jugular blood draw. I had tried twice before on various days and could never find the vein. The dog is Henry, the restrainer is Katherine. Both Henry and Katherine are very nice and do not bite. Look closely...yep, that is blood in the syringe. WooHoo!
I have only a few more reports to write for the practicum and then send in the photos, radiographs, paperwork and reports, get graded and finally, finally, finally will be done with Semester 2.
