Steph's Glass is Half Full

Optimistic (and often pessimistic) raves and rants about the many things that can go wrong with an old house, cats who leave me hairballs each day, a job I love but get burned out with and my wonderful husband who I at times, want to hiss at. Also included are my yays and nays about my travels into the world when performing necessary tasks such as grocery shopping, being thrown together with complete strangers, thrown together with strangers and their strangeness.

A Sad Farewell

This is Louden. He was one of our foster kittens. Today he was 6.5 months old and we had to euthanize him. He had FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis), a fatal virus with no cure and no vaccine available. This morning his brain wasn't connecting to his rear legs. His legs still moved but he couldn't control them, couldn't stand, couldn't walk. We knew a few months ago we would lose him sometime soon and that time was today. There were many tears at the clinic because Louden was a special kitten to all of us.

Louden was a mama's boy loving to climb into my lap for his back massages and naps. Whenever he was at the clinic he let other people pet him but always ran to me after a few minutes for his mama cuddles. I will miss his tiny body lying in my lap and his coming to greet me whenever I came home.

Louden is now with his brother and sister Rufus and Martha at the Rainbow Bridge. Farewell my Baby Boy Louden, you are loved very deeply.

Louden, Rufus and Martha
