Steph's Glass is Half Full

Optimistic (and often pessimistic) raves and rants about the many things that can go wrong with an old house, cats who leave me hairballs each day, a job I love but get burned out with and my wonderful husband who I at times, want to hiss at. Also included are my yays and nays about my travels into the world when performing necessary tasks such as grocery shopping, being thrown together with complete strangers, thrown together with strangers and their strangeness.

It has been very busy for me with the long work hours at the clinic and the kitten rescue. The rescue is swamped with kittens right now. We have only four foster homes and normally have a limit of 12 kitties, but right now we have 23 with only 11 ready for adoption.

This is the "Z Gang"...Zeke, Zelda, Zeena, and Zen. They came to us at two days old with their mother Clara. They will be us for awhile because for some odd reason people aren't looking for black cats. In some cultures black cats are considered good luck. They are very playful and loveable except for Zen who is shy but loves to play.

This is Clementine and Clancey. They look totally different but are brother and sister. They came to us when just four days old and Clara, the mother of the Z Gang, nursed them.

And this is Clara, the super mom, just a year old when she gave birth to the Z gang. Her owner abandoned her when she was pregnant. She had her kittens outside and fortunately two kind people took care of her and the kittens for two days before calling my rescue group.

When Clara's litter was six weeks old, we asked her to take on Clancey and Clementine since she was still producing milk. Clara was a trooper and nursed them as if her own.

We had no name for her, but after taking on Clancey and Clementine we named her Clara because of Clara Barton the innovating nurse.

We are a very small rescue organization and are overrun with kitties. Our funds are extremely low, we do not have 1000's of dollars, we operate on one or two hundred dollars month to month in our bank account. If you want to donate to us, post a comment and I'll let you know the address for sending checks or kitty supplies.

This is my newest nephew Kurt who I hope to enlist in our kitty rescue. He is visiting Tacoma with his parents Jeff and Jayne this week. He loves to knee bounce and the person with the available knee doesn't need to do anything except hold him because Kurt bounces on his own. He is a midget Einstein.
