Steph's Glass is Half Full

Optimistic (and often pessimistic) raves and rants about the many things that can go wrong with an old house, cats who leave me hairballs each day, a job I love but get burned out with and my wonderful husband who I at times, want to hiss at. Also included are my yays and nays about my travels into the world when performing necessary tasks such as grocery shopping, being thrown together with complete strangers, thrown together with strangers and their strangeness.

Marty's Knee Surgery

Marty had his surgery this morning and fortunately had only the partial; a full replacement was not needed.

He opted for the spinal block rather than general anesthesia. Unfortunately as the spinal block wears off he is having severe abdominal cramps and kidney pain. Not much pain in the knee though. That's one good thing.

Before leaving him this evening I set up his "Game Ready" icing machine. The cold will help keep swelling down and the process supposedly helps quicker healing. He is supposed to use the machine until his follow up appt. with the surgeon in two weeks.

Marty is very uncomfortable. Not only from surgery but he really hates being laid up in a hospital. We haven't received word yet on when he will be discharged. I guess it all depends on how well he does with the walking tomorrow.

We rearranged our living room to make it comfortable for Marty since he will be spending a lot of time on the sofa instead of going up and down the stairs to the bedroom. We are hoping for a quick and healthy recovery.
