Steph's Glass is Half Full

Optimistic (and often pessimistic) raves and rants about the many things that can go wrong with an old house, cats who leave me hairballs each day, a job I love but get burned out with and my wonderful husband who I at times, want to hiss at. Also included are my yays and nays about my travels into the world when performing necessary tasks such as grocery shopping, being thrown together with complete strangers, thrown together with strangers and their strangeness.

Marty Update

The first night of Marty's surgery was filled with massive abdominal cramps and kidney pain. When he informed the interim nurse she didn't know what to do and just offered him a pillow saying his regular nurse was on lunch.

When Marty's regular nurse returned she immediately inserted a urinary catheter and the bag filled with 1300cc of urine. No wonder he was in such pain. A bladder with that much urine urine is extremely painful and can't hold much more without bursting.

This morning Marty was extremely nauseous, felt the need to vomit each time he spoke. By late afternoon he was able to eat bites of a peanut butter sandwich and some fresh fruit. At evening time he was feeling okay thanks to the drugs that made him fall asleep during our conversations.
