This is Otter. He is our kitty, ten years old. Otter went to the clinic today because he has had rapid weight loss and is ADR (Ain't Doing Right). He isn't eating and shows no interest in life. The exam and x-rays showed fluid in his abdominal area, a possible diagnosis of FIP which has no cure and is fatal. Cats can receive treatment to prolong their life for a few weeks or a few months.
If the blood and abdominal fluid tests come back with a bad result, we have to consider euthanizing him. We don't want to lose him. Our love for Otter will do what is best for him.
