For those of you who don't know about me, I am co-founder of a kitten rescue organization named Kitty Haven based in Tacoma, WA. We take in orphaned/abandoned kittens, many still so young they must be bottle fed. We get them healthy and socialized and then adopt them into their lifelong homes.
We accepted our first kitty October 1, 2001. Since then we have saved over 800 kitties using only five foster homes. Quite a feat. We operate entirely on donations and adoption fees. Our bank account usually has less than $300 at any given time and we can certainly use the $25000 grant.

The Animal Rescue Site is hosting a special challenge for eligible Petfinder.com member shelter and rescue groups. The grand prize is a $25,000 grant, and they will be awarding many other grants to rescue groups with the most votes — a total of $100,000 in grants for animal welfare organizations.
